Clerkenwell Design Week ends today which means it's the last day for you to come and visit Agora on the Green - an installation currently lying in the centre of Clerkenwell Green, a forgotten square historically famous for political rally and assembly.
We've teamed up with russ + henshaw, Article 25 and RBM a brand of Scandanavian Business Seating (SB Seating) to help bring to life this modern-day agora. We printed bright coloured geometric shapes onto plywood which forms the structure, and printed stickers for the public to apply to the surface of the installation which in effect will transform and bring about change to the site. This is designed to reflect the humanitarian work of UK charity Article 25 which builds for vunerable comminities across the world. The idea is that if each visitor adds to and engages with the timber structure, 'the overall effect will be larger than the sum of its parts', referring to the sum of each brick or donation to Article 25 which will enable them to complete projects that will transform the lives of others.
The Agora installation, designed by russ + henshaw who designed The Mile for Clerkenwell Design Week 2014 also sets out to revitalise the area embracing SB Seating's brand RBM's vision to vitalise space and relations. Their contempory colourful RBM Noor chairs line the Agora adding vitality to this social communal space.
All the proceeds generated at Clerkenwell Design Week will help support an emergency reconstruction Appeal for the victims of Nepal following the recent devastating earthquakes which have killed over 8,500 lives.
If you would like to help support Article 25 on their mission to help re-build Nepal please visit the appeal page
We hope you've enjoyed Clerkenwell Design Week 2015, if you didn't get a chance to visit this year, see you next year as the streets of Clerkenwell EC1 once again come alive.
