It’s been a shaky start to Summer, it’s been chucking down with rain for most part of the week, but today, Londoners’ faith is reinstated as we see glimmers of sunshine and blue skies across London. Not that it’s such a bad thing, having to find shelter indoors, with there never short of a thing to do in London. Potter fans especially have something to be excited about as the ‘House of MinaLima’ has opened its doors in the centre of London’s West End.
‘House of MinaLima’ you might say? Yes. It’s time to turn our attention away from actors Radcliffe, Stone, and Grint for a moment as we find out about behind the scenes Graphic Designers Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima who have decked out a studio across four floors of their designs from the Harry Potter films. And, there’s been no shortage of visitors since the exhibition opened with thousands flocking to 26 Greek Street, Soho to see first-hand original artworks and props from the films.
For MJ’s it’s been another exciting display project for us to be a part of, lining the pop-up shop with fun floor and wallpaper graphics. We produced arguably one of the most useful magical objects in Harry Potter; a giant version of the Marauder’s Map spread across one of the floors in the house. Elsewhere in the studio, we lined the floors with other works MinaLima has produced from the Collective Nouns series of animal prints.
Here’s a short video that takes you behind the scenes at The House of MinaLima. The Harry Potter exhibit is free to enter, you can even try on some of the props, so head down Muggles the wizarding house awaits!
